the Colonial Treasurer and the Commanding Royal Engineer, showing the result of their examination of the Colonial Military Defence accounts from the year 1884 to 1890 inclusive, and stating the balance that is due to the Military Department after calculating, according to Your Lordship's instructions, the amounts paid in sterling, at the market rate of exchange ruling on the dates of payment.
2. The amount still due to the War Department is £3,928.7.11 or, at the rate of exchange obtaining a few days ago, $25,310.48. From this the Military Authorities have agreed to déduct a sum of $4,411.00 in compensation of land at Belcher's Point paid for by the Colonial Government in May 1891.
